You want to install a pipeline with a given inclination but you don’t have microtunneling
equipment ? A RS unit can be applied in combination with a thrust boring machine. It is welded to the guide tube (with cutter head and auger inside ) and connected to the machine. Then, the pipes can be installed with conventional thrust boring technique. Navigation is carried out by two inclinometers and a display shows whether the pipe is installed with the exact inclination or has to be adjusted. The guide tube is connected to the following augers by a universal joint, so inclination and level of the cutter shoe can be easily readjusted.
